We’re Celebrating Hydrogen Day! Read How Our EmPower Lite Hydrogen System Is Helping New Zealand Decarbonize

The best way that I can think of celebrating Hydrogen Day is to tell a real story about one of our hydrogen systems. Our EmPower Lite is Hydrogen powered UPS system that provides up to 160 kW of seamless, carbon-free primary or backup power for data centers, airports, transportation, and more. It’s now on its way to New Zealand helping their communication and transport infrastructure lower their carbon footprint.

“For this transportation customer, their associated operations consume large quantities of carbon fuel, and they can’t quickly change that,” noted Rober Mount, President and CEO, Renewable Innovations. “But they can transition to carbon-free power at their on-field operations at their 100+ sites by using our EmPower Lite.”

The EmPower Lite offers flexibility to customers looking to transition from diesel generators that they have traditionally used for backup power. This hydrogen powered system can function as both a generator and an always online Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS). The EmPower Lite system protects the power supply at a facility when there is a power level or power quality failure at the source. With a continuous supply of hydrogen, this provides an endless backup power supply.
